Long Range Precision 1
Apr
12
8:00 AM08:00

Long Range Precision 1

Rev-Tac's Long Range Precision 1

Spend your day with us building the key component to accurate long range engagements...the FUNDAMENTALS!

We start in the classroom with an equipment shakedown at 8am! This allows us to go over and fix any potential issues with guns and optics before we get on the range!

Then we jump into mils and minutes, how your optic works, setting up your equipment to you specifically, the fundamentals of marksmanship, shooter/spotter roles, gathering data, ballistic calculators. We finish the classroom portion touching on ballistics, reading wind and range estimation....which will all be focused on extensively in LRP 2.

Sometime mid-morning we will get on the range and go over grouping and zeroing...which honestly is really really important. You're only as good as your zero.

After that we will spend the rest of the day gathering data on our guns out to 800, maybe 1000 yards. It really depends on the overall pace of the class. We want to spend this time building confidence behind our systems and utilizing the math that ensures first round impacts.

Class should wrap up around 4pm giving guys who traveled in time to get home for work the next day!

Ask us about coming in the night before and staying at our lodge, cabin or camping! We have RV hookups too!

What to bring:

Rifle

Bipod

Optic with owners manual or link to the owners manual

Ear protection

100 rounds of quality precision ammo. If you don't know what your rifle actually likes, please contact us before hand so you aren't buying poopy ammo in bulk. We will try to save you money!

Note taking material

Water bottle

Spotting scope if you have one

Lunch money for a local hot spot!

Course price: $175

Long Range Precision 2

Long Range Precision 2

Rev-Tac's Long Range Precision 2

Hopefully you've been to our LRP 1 already (at least once) and now you're ready to challenge yourself to further distance, refining the process, rapid target engagements, alternate shooting positions and target detection!

Here's the scoop:

If you need an equipment shakedown for this class, please be here at 7am because class starts at 8am! It's preferred that you come with a zeroed rifle and some data on your gun! If you've taken LRP 1 but are rocking a different set up, that's fine, you'll have a small window to zero when we are confirming zeroes. And then you will be gathering data as others are confirming data. We will shoot out to a MILE in this class if your setup allows!

Here's the rundown:

We will do a refresher in the classroom on measurements, reading wind, the fundamentals all that stuff...then jump into range estimation and target detection techniques and formulas. This will help you maximize your optics ability and build confidence without relying on a range finder.

By 10am we will be on the range gathering data. Depending on your level we may teach alternate shooting positions and then you can challenge yourself to take your shots in that manner or a more traditional format.

We will break for a quick lunch as we transition to our next range...Target Detection and Range Estimation! This is fun and often the favorite part of the class! If you want more of this, we can move to the second Target Detection location before wrapping up the day on our ELR course knocking out up to a mile shot!

We want guys to enjoy whatever caliber they bring to class and push the limits of that rifle, ammo, optic and operator... whether you hit a mile or push your small caliber to it's limits...you will have a blast at this class!

What to bring:

Rifle

Bipod

Optic

100 precision rds

Ear protection

Spotting scope if you have one

Note taking material

Water bottle

Snacks

Appropriate clothing for the weather

Course Cost: $175

Off-Grid: Overland Driving Course

Almost everyone who has a 4x4 has taken it "off-road" at some point...maybe just in the grass or maybe on trails they had no business being on! If you enjoy off-grid camping or you are preparing for the worst, come learn a ton about techniques for making it where you want to go off the beaten trails!

What does our Overlanding Driving Course 1 cover?

2 hours of classroom in order to discuss things like-
* How 4 wheel drive ACTUALLY works- open, locking and limited diffs,
*Approach and departure angles, tipping points/center of gravity
*What get's people "Stuck"
*Self recovery tips- mechanical advantages, tow points, tech and safety considerations.
*Gear talk- Lift kits, bumpers and other stuff people want to throw on their rigs. The tools you want to carry.

From there we hit the trails to learn first-hand about the things we've discussed. You will be driving a technical driving course with mud, water crossings, steep inclines and declines, off camber areas, optional rocks and other obstacles. Every obstacle is "optional" and the overall goal of the class is for you to push your vehicle's limits as well as your driving skills. This course will get you out of your comfort zone.

Course cost: $200/rig. You can have as many people that fit in your vehicle attend with you, swapping drivers/spotters as you see fit.

Optional overnight camping and possible night run will cost an additional $40 per rig. This is an eye-opening experience to offroad in the dark. Night runners will need to bring at least one additional headlamp for their spotter. Bring your own food for the day: lunch, snack, etc.

Camping is primitive- bring what you would to be comfortable! We will have a large fire, drinks and stories!

**You should not expect body damage during this course, but it can happen if you severely "mess up", so please take that into consideration before signing up.

Handgun Speed, Accuracy & Movement - Defenders USA

The Handgun Speed, Accuracy & Movement is being taught by Adam Winch with Defenders USA. This is an outside instructor, we are just the host for this course! You must register/pay with Defenders USA!

This training is perfect for the civilian, military, LEO shooter, or competitor who wants to develop their speed and precision from the holster, either concealed or open carry. This is excellent for those who seek to refine in both areas beyond where most training goes, working from either duty gear or from concealment.
This course intended for those who already have the skills of basic handgun safety, handling and fundamentals, although we will spend time there as needed.

Of note, if you’ve not attended a pervious course with us or do not demonstrate solid proficiency at the beginning of this training course, the instructor can and will, at their discretion, ask you to complete a short proficiency handling and shooting test that is standardized.

We’ll start at 8:30 am at the Rev-Tac Gun Range and end around 5 pm.

Range Fee:
There is also a Range Fee of $25 per day that will need to be paid in cash prior to the start of the course, so please bring that with you.

Lodging available at Rev-Tac!
You can also stay on site at Rev-Tac's excellent lodging for $40 per night.
Contact Tonya for details: (712) 570-5227

As the title says, this day will focus on building the ability to get a urgent first shot from the holster, and then follow up shots, while also being as accurate as the varying targets dictate. We’ll work on accuracy first and into extreme accuracy, then build in speed that is efficient in technique. We will then introduce doing all this while moving, refining the skills learned in movement.

A quality holster is a must in this course, so if you aren’t sure if your holster is of decent to good quality, contact us as soon as possible, because if you need a good holster, it will take some time to order one and get it shipped to you.

If you want to get a holster for before this class, we enthusiastically endorse Haven Defense Co. and we’ll help you select a high-quality holster versus the less-than-good ones in the majority of local gun stores.

Haven Defense Co.
970-987-3471

Doing this course from concealment is recommended but open carry is also just fine, especially for those with duty or competition gear.

This will be a thoughtful, careful training session in order to build skill at efficient speeds. We will be focused completely on getting the objectives of this class exactly right and repeatable for each shooter, with expert nuisances built into grip, stance, platform, excellent and speedy draw strokes, and high precision, both up close and at distance, and while shooting in movement. We will also have a focus on helping the students to understand how to diagnose their own work so they can continue refining their abilities long after this class.

Items & information needed:
Handgun
3 magazines
350 to 500 rounds of ammunition
Holster & sturdy belt (preferably a quality holster – feel free to call with any holster questions), drawing from AIWB or strong side carry.
***NO Blackhawk SERPA holsters or of similar design, NO collapsible holsters, NO sticky or pocket holsters, NO bra holsters, NO shoulder holsters, and NO purse holsters (call with any questions or for any exceptions).

Eye & ear protection
Ink pen, permanent marker, and any wanted note-taking materials.
This is an outdoor range, so whatever clothing layers needed for that day.

Fighting Handgun Concepts - Defenders USA

The Handgun Speed, Accuracy & Movement is being taught by Adam Winch with Defenders USA. This is an outside instructor, we are just the host for this course! You must register/pay with Defenders USA!

This Fighting Handgun Concepts: Speed, Accuracy, Movement, Unconventional Positions, Decisional Engagements & Defending Others will be taught by Defenders USA's Adam Winch.

This training event will be held at the incredible Rev-Tac campus and firearms range in Jackson, NE.

Range Fee:
There is a $25 per day Range Fee so please bring that in cash ($50 total). It will be collected at the beginning of the course and given to the range staff.

Lodging available at Rev-Tac!
You can also stay on site at Rev-Tac's excellent lodging for $40 per night.
Contact Tonya for details: (712) 570-5227

We'll start at 8:30 am and go till around 5:30 pm both days.

This Fighting Handgun Concepts: Speed, Accuracy, Movement, Unconventional Positions, Decisional Engagements & Defending Others is a training course intended for those who are already safe, proficient handgun handlers and shooters.

This is NOT a beginner's course and is intended for those who are ready to move beyond basic shooting to build a fast, efficient draw stroke, put one to multiple rounds on target with either acceptable or precise accuracy at speed, and ultimately be able to do so under the movements common to defensive gun uses.

Beyond helping grow each person's individual shooting skills, the primary goal of this training course is to help prepare those who might have to defend and fight for life itself when in compromised positions and situations.

This is not a course where the shooters stand static with a perfect stance while shooting at immobile targets. Therefore, once it is verified everyone can safely handle and shoot their handguns, and after some precision work, movement will be introduced on the first day, often in close quarters to others.
This is a fighting handgun course that comes directly from personal experience of being involved in multiple deadly force incidents and having witnessed multiple others.

The topics will cover areas to include: impacts in relation to height over bore and bullet trajectory at varying distances, acceptable accuracy to extreme precision shooting, learning and growing realistic and legally-defensible fight speeds with a handgun, gun handling and shooting on the move with accurate shooting, building to the explosive movements needed in fights, one-handed handgun use from an injured fighting perspective, high-stress physical exertion shooting, shooting from unconventional positions and moving up and down and at all points of the compass while safely handling a handgun, shooting in defense of others, moving, controlling and/or shielding others while using a handgun, close contact shooting, gun handling and engaging threats in close quarters with others nearby, decisional engagements, vehicle use, and more.

We will start with safety, then handling and accuracy to find the skill of the group as a whole before moving to extreme precision, then into building or refining an efficient draw stroke with accuracy and recoil management, finding and stretching each attendees' personal limits based on abilities. Movement and shooting will be introduced both at distance and up close to targets and in close quarters with others.

From there, we will expand by involving groundwork, unconventional positional shooting, shooting on the move, dealing with and protecting others, and a lot more.

This is a moderately physical course and, using the training involved, attendees need to be able to move up and down off the ground and from varying awkward positions multiple times while safely handling a loaded firearm and working through situations that will carefully grow in complexity.

This will be a thoughtful, safe approach in training, allowing everyone attending to safely experiment and work through the entire course, and grow an understanding of how dynamic a fight really is, and how to use their bodies and firearms to best defend themselves and those they love if unfortunately ever in the worst-case scenario.

Needed items:
Handgun (or more in case the primary handgun goes down)
Reliable, quality holster & three magazines (Holsters from AIWB 0r strong side carry)
(***Note on holsters: NO Serpa or similar holsters, NO purse holsters, NO pocket holsters, NO bra or cross draw holsters, NO ankle holsters, NO floppy or soft nylon holsters, etc.)
At least 400 to 500 rounds of ammo but feel free to bring more.
Handgun cleaning supplies (you and your weapon will be getting dirty)
Eye & ear protection
Any wanted snacks & non-alcoholic beverages
A brimmed hat
Ink pen, permanent marker, and any wanted note-taking materials
Weather appropriate clothing for an outdoor environment
Any wanted snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
A lunch, as there will not be time to leave the range for lunch.
$25 range fee per day in cash

Optional Items:
A durable mat or knee/elbow pads wanted (you will be working from the ground at times on hard packed dirt and gravel so you may want such items for comfort)
A camping type chair (one that that can take a small amount of abuse)
Any sunscreen & bug spray wanted

Those attending will also engage in decisional engagement situations, responding to complex threats and will also need to explain the physical and legal justification(s) for their actions or non-actions.

This course is considered moderately physical and will require thoughtfulness and constant mental and safety awareness; ultimately growing confidence and ability to defend life with a gun to even higher level.

This FHC will be taught by Adam Winch, Defenders USA’s founder and lead instructor. Adam is a certified Master Instructor and RDS instructor, with many more instructor certifications, and is a nationally recognized firearms instructor. He also has an extensive background in real-life dangerous situations as both a law enforcement officer and in the military where he had to use these skills to defend life.

Home Defense: Use Of Force and Scenario Training

“The body won’t go where the mind hasn’t”
-Unknown

This course is at our downtown location- RTTI (Rev-Tac Training Institute) 1301 3rd Street Sioux City, IA 51101 - 3rd floor of Coffee King.

This is one of the BEST courses you can attend for the money! Why? Because our instructors first discuss the federal and state laws pertaining to home defense, then get into the tactics and finally get the class involved with actual scenarios! Ask anyone who has attended this class... your adrenaline will be pumping as you “defend” your home with a high quality air-soft handgun. Then after your scenario has finished, our retired federal attorney acts as the judge, and your peers act as the jury to determine if you were justified in your use of force. Our end goal is to keep you and your family alive and keep you out of jail! This training is priceless!

To register, head to our website www.rev-tac.com and visit our "Register for Classes" tab!
