Almost everyone who has a 4x4 has taken it "off-road" at some point...maybe just in the grass or maybe on trails they had no business being on! If you enjoy off-grid camping or you are preparing for the worst, come learn a ton about techniques for making it where you want to go off the beaten trails!
What does our Overlanding Driving Course 1 cover?
2 hours of classroom in order to discuss things like-
* How 4 wheel drive ACTUALLY works- open, locking and limited diffs,
*Approach and departure angles, tipping points/center of gravity
*What get's people "Stuck"
*Self recovery tips- mechanical advantages, tow points, tech and safety considerations.
*Gear talk- Lift kits, bumpers and other stuff people want to throw on their rigs. The tools you want to carry.
From there we hit the trails to learn first-hand about the things we've discussed. You will be driving a technical driving course with mud, water crossings, steep inclines and declines, off camber areas, optional rocks and other obstacles. Every obstacle is "optional" and the overall goal of the class is for you to push your vehicle's limits as well as your driving skills. This course will get you out of your comfort zone.
Course cost: $200/rig. You can have as many people that fit in your vehicle attend with you, swapping drivers/spotters as you see fit.
Optional overnight camping and night run will cost an additional $75 per rig. This is an eye-opening experience to offroad in the dark. Night runners will need to bring at least one additional headlamp for their spotter.
Camping is primitive- bring what you would to be comfortable! We will have a large fire, drinks and stories!
**You should not expect body damage during this course, but it can happen if you severely "mess up", so please take that into consideration before signing up.
